Takeshi Saji is a master blacksmith based in Takefu, Echizen, Fukui Prefecture - a city renowned for blade-making since the 14th century. Working in the Echizen tradition, Saji forges each knife by hand, selecting premium steel and applying meticulous heat treatment to achieve exceptional sharpness and durability. His legacy lives on through Mr. Kazuo Nomura and the dedicated craftsmen of his workshop, who have not only mastered Saji's techniques but fully inherited his creative spirit - with Mr. Nomura himself earning the same Dento-Kougeishi distinction in his own right. The art of Saji bladesmithing is not fading; it is being carried forward with equal dedication into the next generation.

Tetsuhiro SG2 Nakiri: Amazing!

I received my knife as promptly as possible given import proceedings, which staff assisted with to the extent possible. Received my knife in robust packaging, in great condition. It sliced brilliantly, my first Japanese knife exceeded all expectations. It has become my default knife, and I’ll take great care of it and hope to use it for many years.

Best bang for bucks

I bought 3 knives Seki Kanetsugu Zuiun SG2/R2 petty and bunka, and yoshihiro ginsan gyuto. Yoshihiro has become my everyday now, 3 weeks and it still feels like new, cuts like new. I pretty much barely use my other knives haha. Absolute performance king for the money I spent. Best buy. I will buy more stuff from them if I ever need anything. Also absolutely quick delivery and best packaging I have seen.

I bought this pocket-size Higonokami with the leather holder as a gift for a friend and it was very well appreciated. The smaller size is great for everyday carry and the Aogami warikomi steel is good quality. The brown holder is a nice touch for protection / presentation. Excellent Tools dispatched quickly as expected. Very happy overall!

Great mandoline slicer! I've only used this Benriner a couple of times so far, but I'm very happy with it. It's well-made, cuts cleanly and evenly, and feels sturdy. This Higonokami with Aogami warikomi steel is beautifully made. The 75mm blade is the perfect size. The brass handle has a nice weight and the blue steel edge holds a razor-sharp edge. So far so good! Excellent Tools were very helpful and responsive and dispatched the item (with others) quickly and everything arrived in perfect condition. Very happy with this purchase - highly recommended!
