Seki Kanetsugu Co. is the knife maker which Matsujiro Kawamura, who is the descendant from “Kanetsugu” the swordsmith, first founded in 1918. Through his long history, Kanetsugu kept making Japanese katana from nanboku-cho, Muromachi, Sengoku to Edo era since he had started making swords in Mino region around Jowa era(1345-1349). Seki Kanetsugu, the blacksmith brings clam-edge(Well known as convex edge) blade of Japanese katana into knife blending high-tech skills & technology with craftsman’s work, so Kanetsugu work achieved as Japanese sword alike quality kitchen knife quality at kitchen use. Quality Steel, cheap price

A very good knife. I have some expensive stainless steel, but this carbon steel knife is actually sharper, easier to sharp, and retain sharpness better than more expensive knifes. Geometry came little bit wrong (too thick and didnt keep a correct form of the edge), but if you enjoy knifes, you should have some sharpening stone to correct geometry from time to time. It took me 5 minutes on the #240, 5 minutes on #800, 5 minutes #1200 and finally 5 minutes on shapton glass #2000 to have razor sharp knife. Im actually extremely happy with the purchase, considering the price and the excellent knife it is
